killerplants

The recently released guidebook by Stacy Tornio, “Plants That Can Kill” (www.skyhorsepublishing.com) focuses on “101 toxic species to Make You think Twice” about planting certain pretty flowers in your garden!

This book is both entertaining while being educational and is especially valuable for those with curious children and pets, who should never be in close proximity to such plants as Azalea, Poinsettias, Bird of Paradise and Day Lilies, many of which can cause illness or even fatalities if consumed.  Beautiful photography accompanies each of the species Tornio examines, making it a safe and toxin-free tour through an array of beautiful but potentially deadly flowering plants and bushes. Just another reminder about the power of Mother Nature, and prooving the old adage right about looks being deceiving.
